Ludham Horsefen tower drainage mill was built on the north bank of the River Thurne and was sometimes known as Goodwin's mill. The mill had four double shuttered patent sails that turned clockwise and were struck via a tailpole. The cap with a petticoat turned the sails to wind via an 8 bladed fan.
