Jeremiah Keymer -1881

Jeremiah Keymer was born c.1862 in Norwich. He was the son of Phillip and Frances Keymer. in 1881 he was given as a millwright aged 19 living with his parents at 7 St. Marks Villas, City Road, Lakenham.

Jeremiah Keymer was my direct relative - Great Grandfather. He was a millwright before working for Colmans at the Carrow works. Jeremiah's daughter Maud, was my grandmother.

Jeremiah Howard Keymer was a mechanical engineer and worked as a engineer and millwright at Colmans Carrow. He lived for a time in Colmans workers' village of Lakenham.
He was born in 1861 in Norwich and his parents were  Phillip_Thomas_Cubitt_Keymer (millwright originally of Salthouse)  and his wife Mary Ann Keymer née Howard.
He had a number of siblings (10 or 11).
He married Harriett Eliza Keymer née Edwards and also had numerous children of which Maud was the eldest daughter. She was my maternal grandmother.
He died in 1949 in Norwich at the Norwich Cathedral old peoples' home in the Close.
His grandfather was therefore the Phillip Keymer of Salthouse who was the millwright there (who, as an 18 year old teenager, indelibly doodled on the oak choir stalls in St Nicholas church Salthouse in 1833).
