Pratt was born c.1809 in Itteringham.
In 1841 he was given as a millwright aged 30-35 living in Rose Yard, St.
Augustine's with wife Susan, (30-35) and daughter Elizabeth (4 months).

In
1851 he was given as a millwright aged 42 living in Peacock Street Opening,
St. Paul with his wife Susan (43), son Richard
(6), and daughter Elizabeth (10). It appears that he had died by 1861,
as he is not listed in that year's census.
