John Buckle snr was born in 1791 in Norwich.

In 1841 he was given as a millwright aged 50 living in Rose Lane, St. Peter Per Mountergate with his wife Mary, 52, sons John, 25, a millwright, William, 20, and Henry, 12, and daughters Martha, 23 and Mary, 3 months. |

In 1851 he was given as a millwright living in Rose Lane, St. Peter Permountergate with his wife Mary, 60. |
| John Buckle snr was born 1791 Norwich. He must have moved around Norfolk doing his job because some of his sons were born in different places. John_Henry_Buckle_jnr was born in Yarmouth 1816 and his brother William Edward born 1821 Bungay, Suffolk was also a millwright. Sometimes it just puts engineer on the census returns. Their brother Henry born 1829 Norwich was also a millwright. Most of the family moved to Essex in later life.
