Horsford Mill
River Hor |
Horsford had a watermill working in the 1300s and probably the 1200s as well along with a windmill. |
I have an ancient copy of an inquisition post mortem held at Horsford on the 14th May in the third year of Edward II (1310) on the death of Robert Fitz Roger, the grandson of Robert Fitz Roger, who died in 1215 & who was the founder of Langley Priory, Norfolk. The jurors say that the said Robert, son of Roger (Fitz John) on the day of his death was seised as of fee of the Manor of Horsford ... etc. There is there:- (inter alia) |
