Saxlingham Nethergate towermill stood on Pitt's Hill on the southwest side of the village. The five storey mill used patent sails set on 50 foot stocks and an iron windshaft to power 3 pairs of stones and a flour mill.

When the mill was sold in 1855, Barnabas Feltham moved to Lakentham Peafield towermill in Norwich.

S. Mealing Mills (late Stocking & Mills) is instructed by Mr. F. Wilson, who has pulled down the Saxlingham Mill, to Sell by Auction without reserve at the above Farm, to which they have been removed for convenience oif Sale, on Tuesday June 26, 1888, the valuable MILLWRIGHT'S MATERIALS, nearly new 50 feet Stock, capital 14 feet Iron Wind Shaft, 3 Pairs of Stones and other Effects.

On 15th July 1971, Mr. & Mrs. George Kemp of 2 Mill Mill Cottages, Saxlingham Nethergate, wrote to Harrp Alpling to say the main part of their house had been built with bricks from the demolished mill about 85-90 years previously. The old mill house was by then known as No. 3 Mill Cottages.
